Isopropylamine, also known as 2-aminopropane and isopropylamine, is a low-carbon fatty amine with a chemical formula of C₃H₉N and a structural formula of (CH₃)₂CHNH₂. It is a colorless volatile liquid with an ammonia smell. Its aqueous solution is alkaline and can react strongly with oxidants. Its density is 0.69g/cm³, its boiling point is 33-34℃, its melting point is -101℃, and its flash point is -26℃. 

From the production process point of view, the industrial production of Isopropylamine mainly includes two methods: isopropyl alcohol method and acetone hydrogenation method. The isopropyl alcohol method uses isopropyl alcohol, liquid ammonia and hydrogen as raw materials, and generates the product through gas phase reaction under the action of catalyst, but this method has problems such as high cost, high energy consumption and many by-products. The acetone hydrogenation method uses acetone, ammonia and hydrogen as raw materials, and generates Isopropylamine under catalyst and certain temperature and pressure conditions. This method has the advantages of low cost, relatively mild reaction conditions and good product selectivity, so it is widely used in China. With the continuous advancement of technology, the process conditions and catalyst performance of acetone hydrogenation method are also continuously optimized, which further improves production efficiency and product quality, reduces production costs, and provides strong support for its large-scale production.
